Testing
Admission to Chicago Hope Academy is based on several important factors, one of which is testing.
In order to be considered for admission to Chicago Hope Academy, all incoming students are required to take CHA’s entrance exam, which is called the High School Placement Test (HSPT). There is a $25 processing fee for the test, and it is due in full prior to the exam; this fee may be paid in advance, or on the morning of the test.
Once the Admissions Office has received the completed Admission Application (including the Parent and Student Questionnaire), the student will be contacted to sign up for a testing date.
CHA offers the following testing dates throughout the school year:
November 22, 2008
January 24, 2009
March 14, 2009
April 25, 2009
CHA recommends that students purchase the HSPT study guide from Barnes & Noble or Border’s bookstores, in order to adequately prepare for the test.
Recommended Study Guides Include:
Barron’s, How to prepare for the COOP/HSPT/TACHS
COOP and HSPT: Test Preparation for the Catholic and Other Private High School Entrance Examinations
McGraw-Hill’s, Catholic High School Entrance Examinations: COOP/TACHS/ HSPT
Once a student has completed CHA’s entrance exam, it will take about two weeks for the test to be processed and the scores to be sent back to the school (an outside company processes the tests for CHA).
The results of these tests will NOT affect the student’s chance for admission unless the student’s academic abilities or disabilities cannot be met by CHA |
